Chibi Amigurumi Doll

I've been debating posting this pattern for quite some time.  I've wanted to make it available but could never decided if I was going to sell it or if I was just going to give it away so I just wrote the whole thing out and edited it over and over again as I kept debating.  In the end selling it is too much hassle.  If I ever start selling patterns I'll just make up more!

Chibi Amigurumi Doll Crochet Pattern
Designed by Lanea Zimmerman

I made this doll pattern up to be a base for character dolls.  It's done amigurumi style for the most part, which uses very basic stitches.  I tried to write this pattern so that it'd be easy to make even if you haven't crocheted before (although I wouldn't recommend it).  The head was made the same way as this pattern, which was an altered form of this pattern.  Ball pattern used with permission.

ABBREVIATIONS:
Ch - Chain.  Yarn over, pull up loop.
Rnd - Round.  At the end of each round, you'll either need to start crocheting at the beginning of the previous round (it'd be a good idea to mark where this is, since this method makes a spiral), or join with a slip stitch to the beginning, chain one, and begin the next round in the same stitch.
SC - Single Crochet.  Insert hook, yarn over and pull up loop, yarn over and pull through the two loops on the hook.
DSC - Decrease Single Crochet (AKA Single Crochet Decrease).  Insert hook, yarn over and pull up loop, insert hook in next single crochet, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and pull through all three loops.
Finish off - pull yarn through and cut, leaving enough of a tail to work in.

FINISHED SIZE:
Approx. 5 1/2 inches tall.

MATERIALS:
Size G and F crochet hook.
2 ounces of worsted weight yarn in a skin tone color.
A pair of 18 mm eyes.
Poly-fil for stuffing.

Rnd 6-9: Sc in each sc around (15 sc)

Attach the arms and feet to the body with the feet slightly closer on the front than the back.  Attach the body to the head with the head positioned to overhang the front, and stuff before sewing completely shut.  Bring any remaining tails into the doll.  If you haven't added the eyes yet, you can still add them now, you just can't put the washers on.  This works great if you want to be able to change eye color, but it's a choking hazard for children so be careful.
